Resonant Boes functions by having a broad and ever growing database of musicians and artists. Each month an ensemble will be curated from this database, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.

You will be contacted via email with an invitation to play an upcoming show, if you accept you will be invitet not to ‘perform’, but to co-inquire into a prompt with 3 other artists with whom you have never played (as an ensemble), navigating the gentle fluid dynamics of interaction and the ever-changing spaces between.

A meaningful part of Resonant Bodies is the ritual before each event, which aims to create more connections between musicians, dismantle barriers and broaden community. Musicians gather between 5pm - 6pm at the venue to share a home-cooked meal, where we exchange thoughts and ideas about the prompt and connect with each other prior to the event starting at 7pm.

Attendance is approximately 5-9pm

How does it work?

Currently the ticket prices range between $17 - $33.00 and the ticketed capacity of the venue is 33. The venue is paid and the ticket sales are then split 5 ways, each musician and myself taking an equal 5th. The invitation to take part is not seen as one for capital gain, but for research, collaboration, exploration and community and involvement is classed as a ‘hobby’.

The event is available as a free live stream for people with a D/disability, chronic illness or any other access needs. The audio is recorded and then uploaded uploaded to bandcamp as an archive, any bandcamp sales will be donated to Blak Pearl, and Aboriginal community arts space in Fitzroy.
